FerreroRoche is the chocolate that everyone loves. The company Ferrero, produces my favourite chocolate at the moment,

Tronky so this blog adopted that nick, that I use all over the web, so that everyone will love it, enjoy it and of course support it

Found some of the pictures I took that are already uploaded on my Picasa , so here it goes

d

The hotel outlook, very grand looking I know and its cheap too (like 150RM only inclusive of breakfast) but nowadays I checked the price on Wotif and seemed to have increased. If they have not done any renovation to the room, well the room is normal and nothing special compared to the room pictures I featured in this blog like the Gardens or the Banyan tree room.

s

The hotel lagoon, when filled up, its quite nice and people can kayak around it. Overall this hotel is very good for families, their pool is big and nice too, some parts are semi-indoor (roof above it) and there are some small slides too.

s

Me at the lagoon, very hot in Port Dickson and the beach, virtually none at this hotel, only sand and lagoon. Though there is the public beach with jet ski and banana boat rides quite nearby (still need car)

s

View from the room, the lagoon semi filled-up, in the early morning its nearly empty, but too lazy to take a pic, its not a nice sight anyway. Breakfast in the hotel was not that good, well a simple hotel with simple standard.

They have a few old arcade games at the lobby and a few karaoke boxes too. but the lifts are like forever damp and smelly.

s

The only Port Dickson attraction we went to, a lighthouse, its name is Cape Rachardo (Tanjung Tuan) Lighthouse. Its still in operation and the hike up from the carpark where there is a hotel too, then we can just park the car there.

since its located in a forest reserve, there is plenty of flora and fauna around but, we are sweaty and we are no hikers into jungle. The hike up and down is as much exercise as we get for the entire year (cos we do not exercise at all)

s

At the top, we managed some very decent pictures of the sun going to be set

s

This one taken with my sunglass acting as polarisers (since then the sunglass has been retired due to broken legs)

s

The pool back at the hotel , very inviting right

s

No beach activities but the view is quite alluring and relaxing for a short getaway.

Seremban is just half an hour away so we have dinner there at the amazing crab restaurants they have and I always visited seremban every time we went to KL (Genting) because their Bah Kut Teh and seafood is very good. Not to forget the Seremban Siew Pau and my favourite Kaya Puff ( its chewy – the kaya and crispy – the puff , smooth – its more like a pancake on the outside, and better than any macaroons that cost like $2 in SG, this one cost less that a buck and its huge!) yes traditional and no-nonsense but its really wonderful, next time I will remember to take a pic before gobbling them all up

s

the lagoon empty is really ugly!

s

the sky is always super nice blue

s

island in the distance visited by many ships, wonder why?

s

Seremban in a rainy evening, many buildings still british inspired.

s

My crustacean friend we had for dinner,

and on the way home, we came across this place

s

Eagle ranch resort

Each of those wagon is 2 rooms (upstairs and downstairs), quite unique rite, and there are many things on their resort (archery, go-kart etch) but its a little bit far from port dickson and not sure about the food around it.

mainly for team- building i guess, but maybe its popular? not sure but sure look very interesting decor

s

One last look at the cute wagons

till next time’

this trip was taken some time ago like maybe 2-3 years ago so the info provided maybe a little outdated. but port dickson was not really such a nice place. maybe because I am a very lazy person. I would not go swimming, banana boating or whatever sea activities or sports that is unless it is right outside my hotel.

so we took a short weekend trip to Port Dickson, one of the most famous malaysian beach getaway, just slightly over 4 hours by car from singapore, almost like Jakarta – Lembang (further up from Bandung) or maybe if Daddy drives its gonna be Jakarta – Cirebon, but thats another story for another time on what is so good in Cirebon

but let me warn u, Port Dickson sucks,

the beach is dirty, even the private beaches near hotel cos maybe sand colour is not white like those in Thailand Phuket or Krabi beaches, or even in Trengganu or in Awana Kijal, yeah thats another story i have yet to blog on.

we stayed at the Corus Paradise Port Dickson, the hotel has its own lagoon, quite beautiful but serves no purpose IMHO.

the pool is nice but port dickson is on the west coast, all day long, sun is killing,  while those ang-mohs love it, thats why port dickson so popular amongst them besides the fact that the British army used to be stationed here thus the port status afforded. I hate the sun so strong. thats why I love Bali and Lombok, for some reason which I have not explored, the sun over there is always just nice, never too glaring, while its hot to take a walk outside but its not burning, like in Jakarta or in PD. I dont understand why PD is so hot either, cos the Titiwangsa mountain range is not exactly that far either.

anyway food wise, we went to Seremban to eat on one of the days, we were there only for 2 nites i think. cos seremban is just 45 mins away, we explored the town.

found the very famous seremban siew pau, but it was all sold out, the next morning before returning to singapore we made another detour to seremban

anyway that night I searched high and low for the famous seremban marmite crab. but did not find in the end settle for just the normal stuffed crab (also found in trengganu/kuantan)

but the next morning found it and since then had eaten there 2-3x, not bad quite cheap and fresh crab, and they come from INDONESIA haha… go all the way to seremban for Indon crab.

Actually without all of u knowing, the good pork comes from Indon, those famous hawker/restaurant always choose pork from Indon cos our pork supposedly not so smelly unlike those high tech ones come from Oz or US/UK that comes frozen, they all (the gourmand) said its not as good as indon one.

all this while, mom seldom cook pork , chicken or beef is more common, cos she said quite hard to find pork, or maybe daddy who does marketing do not like pork. cos she also cooks for other people who may not eat pork too, after all we are the world most populous muslim country.

now u know, cos the indon pork in high demand la, esp after us/mexican pork becomes ’scandalised’ with the swine flu thingy

ok back to crab and seremban

then had lunch at the bah kut teh restaurant next door, also very nice and very cheap.

everytime we came back from genting, which is often and there is nothing new about genting so I never blogged about it, we usually made a stop for lunch in seremban

I will post GPS coordinates if any of u interested to drive there, quite hard to take public transport cos even though seremban is the capital of negeri sembilan (or is it not? not sure) its quite rare for bus to go seremban, cos there is nothing there

maybe next time I will blog more about that small charming town

meanwhile, pictures when i finish exams k

but port dickson is nothing interesting, though I think the Avilion water chalets are superb and nice (maybe)

oh the ostrich farm, alot of ppl say its a failure but I havent been there, but the beach, the main public beach is quite happening. but me, i consider myself a beach lover, but i hate going to public beach, even the happening ones like phuket or bali, i prefer quiet hotel beach where i can just canoe, no need to jet ski or surf, i dun know how to anyway, relax by the beach n read over mai-tai is the best beach holiday for me

of course, sometimes i will go to those snorkelling trips but beach holiday, i am happy with a book

next in july, maybe manado

and soon in may is bintan, i am staying at somewhere special. the BANYAN tree bintan.

wohoo beach holidays galore again.

oh btw

i set up twitter account, if any of u wanna follow me, probably its gonna be about the app in iphone cos nowadays all my time is spend exploring them

someday, i will try to make my own app or at least themes, so far nothing is nice to my eyes
