well time to stop procastinating and start to blog about my trip

JB custom

we started on Thursday Morning, 530 hrs and reach JB custom at ard 630, sun is supposed to be setting up, but it was raining. One thing we’re very afraid of. Because this time round, we r going to the EAST COAST. The area is very prone to flood due to the monsoon season. However, the area is also known for pristine white sandy beach and more laidback lifestyle.

After all we are looking for a respite from our hectic lives this time. The mood outside JB customs
anyway we will be going by the E3 Highway all the way from johor to kuantan where our final destination the Cherating beach is located. along the way we will stop by to enjoy the scenery. after all this is a beach route, something like ECP,though not that near the sea until u can see everything

the way

we are driving in the sunshine yay

the sky is getting dark :(

anyway first up is of course brekkie, hungry thinking of bah kut tehactually, there are few eateries along the E3 itself, so lots of ppl either choose to eat at this bah kut teh place or eat at the prata place just a few metres before. but the prata place looks so delipidated tht MrK decided to eat bah kut teh.

He is not a fan of bah kut teh but yeah the bah kut teh is really warm and delicious in the morning.the restaurant is very open air, with dogs’ shit around, not exactly mortar and brick and proper restaurant like u imagined. but hey’ this is an adventure rite. I didnt even dare to be so adventourous and use the toilet.anyway here is foodand here is drink (barley)total cost RM16 not cheap considering the place condition but ok for the quality of food

The BaKut Teh

next up is Air Papan beach…. supposed to catch sunrise but the one lane highway and our unfamiliarity with it make me kept reminding MrK of the speed limit (110km/h) pretty fast considering the seemingly dangerous A1 and A2 never go above 30 :D and singapore highway only allow 90 MAX

but the beach is really beautiful, other people have taken pictures of the sandy beach filled with seashells here are some pictures, of the car, of the beach

next we drive 300+ km to teluk cempedak, a nice beach just behind the Hyatt Regency. the Hyatt is undergoing some major renovation and people said its not nice to stay with all the worksso we spend some time (to pee mainly) and enjoying the very nice scenery of the hotel.and we went on to have our lunch, somewhere between Hyatt and Swiss Garden Hotel, our accomodation too.

here is what we ordered for lunch

Canada Fresh oyster RM 6 each
Patin Fish (not a big fan of it but this fish is very expensive )
some brocolli
the famous Kuantan Stuffed crab basically crab shell stuffed with crab meat and fried, but the result is a very crispy, fragrant and goes very well with rice….coconut milk for drink
so next we check out the swiss garden and found the parking not as nice as Hyatt, Hyatt has ticketed gates but Swiss Garden is like free for all, this worried MrK alotand then we went to check out Club Med Cherating and the turtle sanctuary

the turtle sanctuary was closed (for prayers or something)and the club med is not open for visitation yet anyway MrK said he will be staying there if the goes back to Cherating so look out for my writeup on that :x

anyway we then proceed to check in at Impiana Cherating Resort, the property is located very close to the beach, every room is build on stilts, and a little rundown.thankfully we r upgraded to their suite. that is very very spacious.but CS was bad, we waited for a long time before the room was ready, and waited even longer for pillowcase and towels, citing shortage of manpower n too many guests check out. RUIN our half day, we spent it sleepin and reading at the sitting areas, and balcony here are pictures of the room
at night, we wanted to eat Bamboo rice ….oooh let me elaborate on our obsession with bamboo rice. Found mostly only on the east coast, it is a poor man’s meal actually. Just sticky rice encased in bamboo and grilled over charcoal. some are stuffed with chicken or beef.and other local food like satar and otak-otak
so we went to kemaman town, the Kemaman kopitiam is very famous for its Starbucks like Coffee, but we didnt go there. we went to the mall instead.we finally choose to eat at A&W, something very close to heart rather than have stomach upset from all the other kinds of food. funny how we always eat at roadside at BKK and think nothing but Malay cuisine dont excite MrK muchafter our feast at A&W it was dark so we drive back to the hotel n watch some TV n order supper MrK ordered the room service, some fried rice and some soup and a HUGE ice kachang dessert, cant even finish a quarter of it. Just let it waste in our fridge cum toilet.Yeah the hotel room has a toilet next to a fridge. A sign of Bad planning. it was a pantry perhaps, which is converted to toilet?? the thought of it still makes me disgusted anyway that is end of day 1. check out more for day 2 and 3 with tonnes of pics

this was taken outside Hyatt teluk cempedak, I dont know whats wrong with my pic uploader this is the first time I am using wordpress itself to upload my pictures, subsequently all my pictures will be nicely edited and framed.

More beach pictures. the beach in cherating is generally clean and nice unlike those at Port Dickson, will blog about my trip to PD soon. and soon I am going to Kijal, further up from cherating in search for better beaches

ooh Air Papan beach is clean too but the sand is blackish…remind me of the one near Mom’s hometown in trenggalek

White in Black

White in Black

the cranes here are so beautifully white…yet they play in muddy waters (black) I wish the world can be like this, no matter which race, which territory it doesnt matter as long as we can live harmoniously and happily and of course with FUN

anyway more nice mosque pictures

thats all for now will be back for more when i figured an easy way to upload pictures
